So the kids are back to school! But somehow life doesn’t seem to slow down when they do. It only signals the holidays to come with Halloween & Thanksgiving right around the corner. So how do you get your life in order in the chaos of school, practices and work?
I feel almost guilty showing you these gems of wisdom, because somehow as they have been locked safely in my Pinterest arsenal, I still have not printed one up and used it consistently and now as our family is growing, I know I need to start this now!
1. Use a Cleaning Calendar
2. Find a System to Declutter
Try a couple of these. When you leave a room, leave with a purpose and an item in hand that needs to be placed in its rightful home. Or get rid of everything you haven’t used in a year. Or you can try this one, over the course of 40 days, fill up 40 bags with stuff you really don’t need. If large items are taking up space then consider a self-storage solution.
3. Try your hand at meal planning. Planning your meals can save you not only time, but also money. Have you seen the Walmart commercial about how not eating out one day a week can save for $1500 a year? That’s just one meal!!!! If you cut down eating out to once a month or once every 2 weeks just think how much you can save! But sometimes eating out is just an excuse for the fact that we didn’t have anything planned for dinner, so try to plan your meals. You can do a week planned out at a time (this works better for my husband and I) or up to a whole month.
Hopefully these will help you feel prepared for the crazy months to come!
